One Year Since the Last MCprep Release

No I’m not kidding, today (at least where I live) marks one year since the last MCprep stable release. On one hand, it’s pretty impressive that so far, nothing has broken MCprep’s functionality, given how much the Blender Python API changes on a weekly basis, but on the other hand, that’s not good.

Now back in June, I started releasing unofficial1 MCprep builds based on the dev branch as sort of a stop-gap measure to address the lack of updates, hoping by August we could get an update pushed out. Unfortunately, things happen, and when there’s few developers working on the project (at this moment, it’s just TheDuckCow, zNight, and I), things take priority.

So, I’ve compiled together all of the builds I released on the MCprep Discord server and made them publically2 downloadable. They can be found on the MCprep MB Builds page.

I’ll keep them up until we can get an official release of MCprep out, which hopefully should be before the year is over.

Now as a reminder from my last post (which itself is a reminder of previous posts I’ve made over the last 2 years), MCprep development has fallen off in recent years, so please if you can, look into getting involved.

Anyway I’ll be over here yelling at some clouds, cya!

Footnotes

  1. Some might ask “aren’t you an MCprep dev though?” and yes, that’s correct. However, these have not gone through the full official release process, so they won’t show up in the MCprep updater for example, hence the “unofficial” label.

  2. Technically the MCprep server is public, but y’all know what I mean
